If you want to improve your game, there are a ton of golf training aids out there designed to help you do just that. But what kind should you choose? Here is a list of some of our favorite types of golf training aids and how they will improve your game.
Alignment Sticks
Golf alignment sticks are simple, but effective training aids that can drastically improve your aim. You can use alignment sticks to line up your aim, check if your ball positioning is correct, or even to give you a clear place to fix your gaze if you are working on not moving your head when you swing.
Impact Bag
Impact bags, also known as smash bags, are large soft bags that you place on the ground in the spot you would normally put your ball. You then swing as you normally would but, instead of hitting a ball, you hit the bag and are stopped while you are in impact position, enabling you to evaluate and improve your positioning. Impact bags are great for improving your positioning and achieving a consistent swing. They are also a convenient option for practice because you can use them at home to practice your swing without needing to hit a ball.
Weighted Clubs
Weighted golf clubs are a great way to practice your swing and warm up before a round of golf. They are designed to specifically target and strengthen the muscles used in a golf swing, so using a weighted club can help you to improve your swing speed and achieve greater distance.
Putting Mirror
A putting mirror is a mirror with alignment markers on it that you place on the ground underneath your ball when you are working on your putting. The mirror allows you to see your own positioning while you putt so that you can make sure that your gaze is properly aligned and your shoulders are squared off. Putting mirrors are great because you can instantly see if your position is off and then readjust.
Don’t forget that you’ll need balls for all of this practicing! Check out our great deals on used practice and range balls.
