Golf fans will be spending a lot more time turning their TV to the USA Network in 2022. This is because the US Open and many other high-profile golf events that used to air on NBC Sports now have a home on the USA Network.
Major Golf Events Shifting to USA Network
In a recent press release, NBC Sports chairman Pete Bevacqua said, “We are excited to transition the cable coverage of many of our premium sports events to USA Network, Peacock, and other widely-distributed NBCUniversal platforms, which will give us a significant boost in television homes and will put us in an even stronger position as we grow our business.”
What this means is that much of the programming from NBC Sports will be available on USA Network, the streaming service Peacock, and the NBC Sports website and app. For golf fans, many major events will be shifting to USA Network. The US Open, including the Open Championship, AIG Women’s Open, and Women’s US Open will be shifting from NBC Sports to the USA Network, beginning in 2022.
Other Sports Moving to USA Network
Golf is not the only thing that’s switching networks. You’ll also be able to catch Premier league soccer, horse racing, and the Winter Olympics on USA Network. More than 1,500 hours of live programming will be moving from NBC Sports to the USA Network in 2022.
Watching golf on TV is definitely one of our favorite pastimes, but it still can’t compete with getting out there on the course yourself. If you need to stock up on balls at a great price, we’ve got you covered.
