Lucas Glover Wins
This is Glover’s fifth PGA Tour win. He won by two shots with a score of 68. This victory moved Glover up to 49th in the FedExCup standings, qualifying him for the Playoffs. Glover’s game was strong throughout the championship, and even when he was temporarily derailed by a two-hour bad-weather interruption, Glover came back strong with consistently great putting in order to secure his win.
Defending Champ Tom Kim Withdraws
21-year-old Tom Kim, the defending champion of the Wyndham Championship, had to withdraw from playing due to an ankle injury. Kim slipped in his backyard and suffered a Grade 1 tear in his ankle. Kim told the press, “I am very gutted to not be able to defend my first PGA Tour win. I am still having a hard time with my ankle so I am getting the treatment I need to heal completely.” While it must have been tough to let the Wyndham Championship go, taking care of his injuries now means that Kim is safeguarding his ability to play his best in upcoming events once his ankle is completely healed.
